Dhangadhi — The One-Day Coding Challenge held at Saunrai Square, Dhangadhi, concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from young women. Organized under Girls in ICT Day Nepal 2025, the event brought together 70 young women aged 18 to 24 from various schools and colleges across the Farwest region.
The event was inaugurated by Hon. Saraswati Khadka, State Minister for Social Development, and Mr. Deepak Bist, President of the Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN) – Farwest. They emphasized the need for digital literacy among women and highlighted the importance of inclusive tech education in Nepal’s development.
In the first session, participants took part in a hands-on Python programming workshop conducted by expert mentors from RAN. The second half featured a team-based coding challenge, where participants developed chatbot solutions addressing real social issues affecting girls and women in the Farwest region.
After the project presentations, three outstanding teams were selected as winners:
First Position – Students from National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Dhangadhi
Second Position – Students from National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Dhangadhi
Third Position – Students from Sudurpashchimanchal Academy
The judging panel included respected tech and academic experts: Ms. Sheela Kansakar Karkee, Mr. Binod Rijal, and Ms. Adipti Gupta. They evaluated each team’s solution based on creativity, impact, and technical execution.
The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Prem Chand (Principal, NAST), Mr. Yograj Gautam (Campus Chief, SPA), Mr. Harka Seti (Vice President, CAN Federation), and Ms. Saraswati Nagarkoti (Miss Tech Coordinator). All guests applauded the participants’ energy, innovation, and commitment.
The event was made successful by dedicated mentors and resource persons from RAN, Godabari Innovation Center, SPA, and Ujjwal Education, who offered technical guidance and motivation throughout the day.
This program marks an important step toward bridging the gender gap in Nepal’s tech sector and inspires a future generation of confident, capable women in technology.
